Coffee Lab

A cold brew calculator now, an expandable brewing workbench later.

This first release is built around your batch-style cold brew math: coffee in, water in, concentrate out, caffeine estimates, dilution targets, and cube conversions. The structure is ready for pour over, moka pot, espresso, and French press modes next.

1 Live brew mode
4 Planned additions
8+ Core batch outputs

What this is

Coffee Lab is intentionally framed as a standalone utility incubated inside ArgoBox's Development surface, not as a core ArgoBox module. The math lives in a reusable TypeScript library so the calculator can later be split into its own site or package without rewriting the logic.

Current default profile: Cold Brew using your last heavy batch as the starting preset.

Inputs

Adjust the batch, then watch the caffeine and yield model update instantly.

Assumptions

  • Assumes concentrate density near water for grams ↔ fluid ounces.
  • Use bean caffeine % and extraction % as adjustable estimates, not lab measurements.
  • Observed retention from your batch is a strong predictor for the next water-in target.

Pour Over

Planned

Future mode for brew ratio, drawdown, and ready-to-drink cup strength.

  • Planned: ratio-first flow with no concentrate assumption.

French Press

Planned

Future mode for immersion brew yield and sediment-aware cup estimates.

  • Planned: immersion mode with cup-strength outputs.

Moka Pot

Planned

Future mode for basket fill, brew yield, and dilution to mug strength.

  • Planned: moka-specific yield and dilution helper.

Espresso

Planned

Future mode for dose, yield, shot ratio, and estimated caffeine per shot.

  • Planned: shot ratio and milk drink translations.
